Reflections about 9/11 vary for all of us, depending on where we were, and how it affected us. But after all these years, one constant remains. From my own poetic reflections about 9/11, here is a backward look, as well as a forward look at those events:
Where Do You Fit in God’s Lineup?
Society labels them as Stars. Aren’t these the role models, the trend setters, the scholarship winners, and the bold headliners? Aren’t these the truly successful players in life? All the rest? Just garden variety. But what does God say about that? And what if you’re not one of the stars? What does being faithful mean? Where do you fit in God’s lineup?

TEN WAYS TO REFILL THE EMPTY NEST
Wikipedia describes the empty nest syndrome as “a feeling of grief and loneliness parents may feel when their children leave home for the first time, such as to live on their own or to attend a college or university.” Just as a bird prepares a nest out of bits of twigs, grass, and other sturdy ingredients to serve as a home and refuge for its babies, so we moms have built a nest through the years for ourselves and our families. When that nest begins to empty, how do we fill the vacuum?
Mother or Grandmother: Is There a Difference?
Mother or grandmother: It really doesn’t matter what age or stage a mother is at. Once you’re a mother, you’re a mother forever. God places within each mom the need to nurture her little ones–always guiding, always loving, always giving and prodding them in the right direction with gentle reminders: “Be careful,” “Dress warm,” “Eat healthy.”
