Need Encouragement?
My Mission and Passion
We all crave more peace, hope, and joy–and more encouragement in every area of our lives, don’t we? You matter to God, and you are important to me. I hope you’ll find heart-to-heart encouragement here that will make you wake up on any day of the week with a smile on your heart and a purpose for living.
I fell in love with books and words about the same time as I fell in love with Jesus–as an elementary school girl. But it was after I received my MRS degree and my PHT (putting hubby through) that I knew God wanted me to write. As an inspirational author of numerous books, devotionals, articles, and greeting cards for over 35 years, I feel extremely blessed. In fact, because I love writing so much, I used to feel guilty for receiving payment. I got over that. 🙂
In my blog posts, I often write as a mentor with years of marriage, family, and ministry experience (and hopefully wisdom). Here, you’ll even find a Christian book review, recommendation, or a great giveaway. But most of the time I write about faith and the spiritual life. Some of my blog topics include the ways God speaks to us, prayers for our deepest needs, discovering God’s plan for our lives, and finding faith and courage in our most difficult times. I want to help you see God bigger–through His names and character–and how knowing Him more intimately can give you the tools you need to help make your life all that God wants it to be. I try to offer the same kind of encouragement that fills my devotions and books.
I usually blog on Thursday each week. I hope you’ll sign up for my blog posts and newsletters on my website so you can also receive my occasional updates, contests, and specials, including a free copy of 8 Ways to Draw Closer to God when you subscribe. You can check out the books I’ve written here.
More than anything, I want this e-home to be your home–less about me, more about you, and all about Him. Whether you’re single, married, young, or old, this is my prayer for you:
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word” (2 Thessalonians 3:18 NIV).
My Personal Life
In the spring when I’m not meeting a writing deadline, you might find me spreading mulch in my perennial gardens or snagging an eight-pound bass on the lake with my high school sweetheart–my minister husband with whom I’m still madly in love. At any time of the year, I love curling up on the back porch swing with my Bible, coffee, and the real Love of my life, Jesus, as well as reading a great Christian fiction book or spending time with my two daughters and sons-in-law and four grandchildren who call me Mimi. And I love communicating with my Heavenly Father for the needs of others–which includes you.
Readers from over 170 countries/territories have visited my e-home! I’m so glad you’re one of them.
You’ll find my contact info here. I love hearing from readers!
