Home and Family Expectations What are your expectations for your home and family? Do you expect less messiness and more beauty? And how do you respond when you can’t see the beauty for the mess? Here are a few ideas to help you get started:
A Legacy to Celebrate: Granny Ruth
We all want to leave a good legacy. Years ago, I said good-bye to a sweet friend named Granny Ruth. Her legacy will affect others for generations. I’ m sure Jesus greeted her with a warm “Well done!” as she stepped through the gates of heaven. How I have missed her! I wrote a story about Granny Ruth in one of my books, Day-votions® for Grandmothers.
Encouragement for Parents and Grandparents: Preparing Your Kids for Life
Encouragement for parents and grandparents is always a welcome thing. We’re concerned about making wise decisions, aren’t we? Are we giving our kids the right training? Fear may try to consume us. Are they being bullied? Are they safe enough? We all want our kids to “turn out right.” At one time or another, we may think we’re not doing “enough” to prepare our kids for life.
One Word God Loves to Hear
It’s one of the words God loves to hear, but not only at this time of year. His God-ordained “holiday” includes every day of every year. No matter what’s going on in our world or in our lives, He loves to hear this word. What is it?
Do You Need This Prayer?
Needs bombard us like a hailstorm sometimes. In emergencies, my prayer may simply be, “Jesus, Help!” In fact, I uttered one of those prayers last week. But other times I have more time to give thought and reflection, remembering God’s Word and promises in prayer.
