When our recent home remodeling eliminated the door in this photo, I grabbed it for re-purposing, thinking it would make wonderful yard art for my backyard. But that door soon took on a deeper meaning. There are doors we enter and doors we exit. We’ll find open doors and closed doors. But which doors should we open that will contribute most to our success as Christians?
A New Beginning: Promise for Today
New Year? Or New Beginning? The start of a new year is not the only time for a new beginning. So is Springtime. About this time each year, my fingers itch to bury themselves in the fertile soil outside, planting new flowers. Only a few more weeks, and Winter will be past. I love Spring! But God’s promise is for anytime–and anyone! He loves for people to experience a new beginning with Him.

A Lesson from the Garden
My neighbor recently gave me a thoughtful gift for my garden. She knew how much I loved “yard art.” And it was even lime green and pink–colors I’ve splashed throughout my back yard. But when I planted it in the ground beside my real flowers, God nudged my spirit. This would be more than just a metal decoration. That painted flower decor would remind me of another spiritual lesson–like so much of my garden does. I love that God can speak to us anywhere, anytime He wants. Don’t you?
