Jesus is the Hope of Christmas, the Peace of Christmas, and the Joy of Christmas. But when God sent His only Son into the world, Jesus, as God, the One and Only, love came down at Christmas for you and me.
Join me as we offer this simple prayer of praise to the One whose love exceeds all others, the Love of Christmas, or offer your own praise prayer as you celebrate Jesus, God, the One and Only.
Jesus, we experience many kinds of love in our lifetime—love for our parents, our children, our close friends, our mate, and even the unloved and needy. But there is only one love like Yours.
You Are Love at Christmas and Always
Who can compare to You, Lord? You are God, the One and Only—the lover of our souls, and the One from whom all affection stems. Without You, we have no idea what love is really about. To define your love? Impossible? To experience it? Indescribable!
But You are the love that came down at Christmas. Born in a manger, God, the One and Only, sent as a babe to show us what the Father was really like.
Only one thing is needful, Jesus. To know You, to love You, and to be loved by You! And to share that love daily with others.
You Are the Only Christ
So many impostors have come in Your name, Lord, claiming to be the Christ. But You are God, the One and Only, and You are the only Christ. The gods of other nations pale and wither at the mention of Your name, but You alone hold the secrets of heaven. And for those who truly know You, You are our one and only true love.
To Those Who Are Lonely and Need Your Love This Christmas
Lord, wrap your arms around those whose arms feel empty this Christmas. Their losses threaten to steal their joy and bring depression rather than celebration. Reaffirm Your love at Christmas and let them know that You will always be their One and Only True Love.
Your love brings comfort, calm, and companionship to those who know You. And You will never leave them alone. You will never let them slip from Your precious hand.
We Celebrate You, Jesus, and Your Love at Christmas
Jesus, this Christmas we celebrate Your love for us and our love for You as God, The One and Only. Thank You for loving us when we were so unlovely, and for never giving up on us. How can we thank You enough?
And You Are Coming Again
Just as prophets foretold your coming the first time, Your Word fills us with anticipation: You are coming again one glorious day, this time to capture Your bride. Then all those who have received you as Lord will see you face to face.
As Christmas draws near, we celebrate You, Jesus! You are God, The One and Only. Thank You for filling us with Your love at Christmas and every day!
No one has ever seen God, but God, The One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known (John 1:18 NIV).
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16 NIV).
“No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father” (John 16:27-28 NIV).
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:3 NIV).
