Today is the eleventh in a series of daily Christmas blogs: 25 Christmas prayers celebrating the names of our precious Lord–Jehovah Rapha, The God Who Heals. I hope these simple prayer blogs will enrich your Christmas season and draw you closer to the One who is the true reason for Christmas.
Day 11 – Jehovah Rapha, The God Who Heals
Lord, more than ever, so many need Your healing–body, soul, and spirit. In their times of greatest pain they sometimes hide from You, thinking You will not know–or even care.
You Are Our Only Hope
But You are Jehovah Rapha, the God Who Heals. You are our only hope. When You fail to answer immediately, You are not abandoning us at our point of need. You haven’t forgotten us. You’ve recorded every symptom and every tear. In Your time and in Your way, You still bring healing.
God Heals and Forgives
Lord, You continually pour Your salve of cleansing, healing, and forgiveness over our spirits. Time and time again, we lay our complaints at Your feet, yet You never turn us away. What a compassionate God You are!
God Heals and Blesses
Jesus, this Christmas season we ask a special blessing on the hurting, the sick, the lonely, and the lost. You are more than enough when tough times enter households and invade families. Your touch diffuses stress and calms fears. With You by our side we can endure whatever crosses our path, knowing this life is only temporary. A greater blessing awaits Your children–a place with no sorrow, no pain, and no disease. You are the God who completely heals.
God Heals Completely
To those who need soul healing, Lord, give us the passion to pursue them as You do. May the tenderness and love in this season draw them to You, so You can “heal” completely. Use our arms, our legs, our voices, and our gifts to tell them about our Jehovah Rapha–and about the Christ of Christmas.
Resurrect and Restore
Resurrect our faith from the ashes of bad experiences and painful losses. Restore as only You can.
In Your wisdom and in Your mercy, grant healing this Christmas to those who need it most. Like the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, we long to feel Your power and life flowing through us. We trust Your perfect will, but we ask–because we are Your children.
We bless You and celebrate You this Christmas, our Jehovah Rapha, our God who heals. We thank you for all the blessings and benefits that come, just from being Your child. No one can make us whole but You.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits–who…heals all your diseases (Psalm 103:2-3 NIV),
How has Jesus been your Jehovah Rapha, the God Who Heals?
