Rebecca Barlow Jordan is a best-selling inspirational author and speaker who loves to share God’s words of encouragement with others at conferences, churches, and special women’s events. She has authored or co-authored 11 books, including the new Day-votions™ series: Day-votions™ for Women, Day-votions™ for Mothers, and Day-votions™ for Grandmothers. She has also contributed to numerous other books and has sold over 1700 greeting cards, articles, calendars, inspirational poems, devotions, and other encouraging pieces. Over 325,000 of Rebecca’s books have been in print, encouraging others, one heart at a time. Rebecca and her husband, an executive pastor, are also trained marriage enrichment leaders and enjoy leading marriage retreats together. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren and make their home in East Texas.

What you just read was the short version of my bio–what’s usually expected on a page like this. And below you’ll find the full professional bio for media or if you want to know more. As a writer for over thirty years, I’ve been an author of several books and several hundred other inspirational pieces. But I’m also a minister’s wife who’s still madly in love with my husband (my high school sweetheart), a mom of two wonderful daughters and sons-in-law, and a grandmother of four precious grandchildren. Most of all, I’m a day-voted follower of Christ who loves to paint encouragement on the hearts of others.

That’s really what I hope this “e-home” will be for you: a place to find encouragement. Whether you’re single, married, young or old, this is my prayer for you:

“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word” (2 Thessalonians 3:18 NIV).

There are few things I enjoy more than creating pictures with words and encouraging others with God’s words. If, through my blog, an article, a book, a greeting card, or by speaking to your group, I can inspire you to write more purposefully, to live life joyfully, to love others sincerely, and to pursue Christ passionately, then my “mission” will be accomplished.

Rebecca Barlow Jordan is a best-selling inspirational author and speaker who loves to share God’s words of encouragement with others at conferences, churches, and special women’s events. She has authored or co-authored 11 books, including her newest Day-votions™ series: Day-votions™ for Women, Day-votions™ for Mothers, and Day-votions™ for Grandmothers. Rebecca also wrote 40 Days in God’s Presence and 40 Days in God’s Blessing, as well as two best-selling series: the Daily in Your Presence series, which included the printing of a large, gift-boxed journal, and co-authored the Courage for the Chicken Hearted series. Her other books include At Home in My Heart, and Marriage Toners, a book she co-authored with her husband. She has also contributed to numerous other book publications, including In the Garden with God, Christmas with God, and three Guideposts books. Over 325,000 of her books have been in print, encouraging others, one heart at a time. Three of her books have been printed in Korean, and two have been published as Guideposts selections.

You may have seen one of Rebecca’s inspirational greeting cards in Christian bookstores or gift shops. She has sold over 1700 greeting cards, stories, devotionals, inspirational poems, calendars, and articles to publications such as Home Life, Discipleship Journal, Marriage Partnership, Focus on the Family, and others. Rebecca also authored a series of children’s devotionals and a 365-day calendar, In His Image.

Rebecca married Larry, her teenage sweetheart. She has been teaching Bible studies and encouraging others since their first country church over thirty-five years ago (home of “Miz Gordy” and the source of many lighthearted—and chickenhearted episodes.) Rebecca has also taught at writers’ conferences and has worked with women’s ministry and discipleship. She and Larry, an Executive Pastor, share their passion for marriage as they lead marriage enrichment retreats. They have two married daughters and sons-in-law and four grandchildren and make their home in East Texas.

In 2008, Rebecca was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Hardin-Simmons University. She has been a newspaper columnist and church deaf interpreter and has won two American Christian Writer’s Awards. Rebecca is a Speak Up graduate (Carol Kent), a member of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association), and has been interviewed on national radio and television stations such as At Home Live and US Radio Network Stations.

Rebecca also enjoys gardening, spending time with family, reading great fiction, photography, scrapbooking, fishing with her husband–and learning more about God’s heart.
