Have you ever wished for the privilege of starting over? Has a relationship gone sour? Have you abandoned a difficult project? Ever spoken a word in haste and wished you could take it back? Or maybe you’re just trying to find a new start in your relationship with God.
STARTING OVER IS POSSIBLE
Anything is possible with Jesus. You might not be able to erase everything in your past, but He can. When you ask, He will forgive your past. He can give you a new beginning. It’s Jesus’ specialty. He’s ready to strengthen and help you. It’s never too late to start again.
Some will tell you it’s too late; there’s no way. Others will tell you, you’re too old or too young. Some will doubt you. Others may question you. But it’s what Jesus whispers in your heart–and what His Word promises–that counts. Draw close to Him. Let His fragrance remind you of the freshness of springtime and newness of life.
JESUS IS ALL ABOUT STARTING OVER
Some of life’s greatest lessons are born out of failure and persistence. No matter what your age or stage of life, Jesus is waiting for you to join Him in renewed fellowship each day. One day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, you can begin again. Starting over is possible with Jesus. He’s waiting for you.
Here are some familiar promises to remember on your journey each day:
Create in me a new, clean heart, O God, filled with clean thoughts and right desires (Psalm 51:10, TLB).
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV).
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23, NIV).
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14, NIV).
My Personal Prayer for You
Lord, when the past overtakes us, and the future overwhelms us, help us to cast our cares on You. Grant us new life and fresh grace to begin again. Mend relationships, heal wounds that fester, and give us persistence to press on toward the goal You’ve set for us. Put heaven in our eyes and eternity on our minds. Thank you for new beginnings.
