Sharon, I am so sorry about this situation with your daughters. I know it must be difficult. I will be praying that our very wise Counselor and Comforter will surround you with His blessing, His wisdom, and His great love. No matter how we feel about our parenting skills and endeavors, God is still the One in control. And He is the only perfect parent. Sometimes all we can do is just keep loving–and keep resting in Him.

I was in tears when I read this post, it was only 2wks ago Wednesday my youngest daughter who’s 20 was diagnosed with mental illness. Today was her 1st visit with the psychiatrist as recommended from her psycho social assessment. She was asked a hypothetical ques? If she was on an island and could bring one person who would it be? After a long pause she said it was too dificult a question. We have a small family and it’s been she and I alone for a couple years now. My oldest was gone along time now. Apparently she’s harboring a lot of anger toward me.

Your words are always so encouraging and uplifting, Becky. As I struggle with memory problems, I do remember the words to the chorus which I think you wrote:
:In His strength I can be what He wants me to be.
I can do anything that He wants me to do.
In His strenght, by His power, every day; every hour.
I can do anything in His strength.

I just love your site and your faith and the way you write,it lifts me” up reading your words of encouragement ,for I certainly need them .
I am from Pass Christian,Ms,Gulf Coast,lost everything to Hurricane Katrina,and it has been long 5 years trying to get it all together ,still have not completed my home, and now the oil spill which has sadden me so much ,for all the fisherman, all the sea life which will be effect by this,our beaches,etc…
But God has a reason for everything and I just pray they will stop the oil,which is still leaking soon,and we will be able to clean the waters up..
So please keep your words of encouragement coming for I truly need them
