8 Ways God Speaks to Us Today – Part 1

He conversed with Adam in the first garden. He told Noah to build an ark. He spoke to Moses in a burning bush. He promised Abraham a son. Paul heard His voice on the way to Damascus. But does God still speak to us today? If so, how? When? Where?

Often when people ask this question, they are talking about an audible voice. And God can do that. He can do anything He wants. He’s God. Why then, can’t I hear God speak to me audibly, someone might ask?

I can’t answer questions that the Bible does not make clear. And the way God works is one of those questions. I do think “hearing God speak” may mean different things to different people. To some, it may suggest, “I need answers for my life, or this particular crisis.” Another may say, “I’ve asked God for _________, but He never answers me.

God treats each of us as unique children. None of us are cookie-cutter Christians. Because of that, God doesn’t “speak” the same way to all of us. However, here are eight ways God often uses to communicate with us.

8 Ways God Speaks to Us Today

1. Through His Word in general.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that all Scripture is “God-breathed.” His Word sometimes gives us a warning, a word of encouragement, or a lesson for life. It’s ”His-story”–written with love as God’s guide for life, “so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

That means God is whispering, and sometimes shouting, all through His Word, giving us instructions and principles for life. As we interpret Scripture by other Scripture, we avoid the false logic and misinterpretations that sneak into our world. If someone claims, “God told me to go kill my neighbor!” would you believe him? Of course not! God never violates His own Word or principles. That “voice” does not belong to God.

I needed help for raising my children. God “told” me about that in His Word, especially in Proverbs. Marriage difficulties? God spoke about that as well. Times when I was afraid? I “heard” Jesus’ words to His disciples as they feared for their lives one stormy night: “Peace, be still!” and it was as if God was speaking to me, too (Luke 8:23-25).

2. Through His Son, Jesus Christ

The New Testament was the fulfillment of God’s special plan. It’s the gospel: the good news of Jesus Christ. “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by His Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe” (Hebrews 1:1-2, NIV).

Through the words of Jesus in Scripture, we can “hear” God’s heart and God’s voice–and know what God is truly like. These words were not written for a few, select individuals who could jump through the right spiritual hoops (“For God so loved the world….”). Someone in Africa, in Germany, in China, and in Alabama can “hear” Jesus’ voice by reading the same Bible.

Comparing us to sheep and He as the Shepherd, Jesus says in John 10:27, NKJV: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” Why? Because the sheep know who He is. They belong to Him, and they recognize Him by the sound of His voice. And He’s the one who will always lovingly lead them on the right path–again and again.

3. Through Nature and God’s Creation

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse ” (Romans 1:20, NIV). Through the intricate details and magnificent beauty of all that God has made, we can “hear” His voice. How? By observing the ant’s strength to store up food all summer long, we learn about wisdom and industriousness. By studying the heavens, we understand more of God’s greatness. And through planting and growing a garden, we “hear” about miracles of death and rebirth. God designed–and spoke them all into existence.

4. Through Other Believers

God may use a friend, a teacher, a parent, or a preacher to convey His message of truth to us. Their words may come as a warning, a blessing, or as a prophetic truth about our lives.Whether we choose to hear it or ignore it, depends on us. Do their words line up with Scripture? Will God confirm or affirm that truth in us? “The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere” (James 3:17, NIV).

I’ve “heard” God speak to me numerous times through other people. A good friend once cautioned me about flirting with danger. Words from a speaker or Christian author have both challenged me and convicted me at times.  And I’ve “heard” God talking to me through my own children as their pure and honest words cut clear to my heart and spirit, reminding me of God’s true priorities.

All these things may not sound to you like ways of ”hearing God’s voice,” but it’s possible to reduce God to our own image if we insist on Him acting or reacting a certain way. God is bigger than that. He once spoke through a donkey (Numbers 22:28). Why then, can’t He speak through anyone at anytime or in any way He wants to?

Bottom line is that if we are His children, God loves us unconditionally and will spare no expense to show us. Our part? Believe Him!

Hearing His “audible” voice would no doubt cinch His reality in an awesome way. But I’ve never heard God through an angel’s message. I have no taped recordings to tell you what God sounds like. But I have heard God “speak” through the above ways–and in a few more I’ll tell you about next week in Part 2. Is there ever a time when God is silent? I believe so. We’ll talk about that, too. See you next week!

I always feel God through other believers. It’s good to hear other people’s thoughts about their faith and challenges encountered. It makes me think and realize many things about my life.

Yes, God speaks to us when we need his protection in bad situations.
I was a divorced young mother and had custody of two children.
I was being set up by my ex-husband to do something wrong so he
could have witnesses to the effect and take custody away from me.
I was a christian and all my life from childhood tried to abide by what
I was raised up to be. So, thank God my moral values were in order.
One day an older lady recruited her husbands niece to ask me to go
to this bar. I never went into bars but some strange reason I did go because they kept saying,” oh, come on, you need to get out and do something, all you do is sit home’. I was never around evil doings so I never would have thought something was up. I went along. Victim of circumstance. We went into this place, my ex was a judge in a hot pants contest there that night. I glanced over and saw him but it did not affect me in any way. Like a stranger. Something said to me in my spirit (not audible) like a command, “drink 7-up because she will tell them what you drink.” It repeated it a second time in my mind. “Drink 7-up because she will tell them what you drink!:
The girl took our order and I did what the instructions were. I told the girl , “7-up.”
The next day, my sister called me up and told me that older lady, not her niece they recruited to heip them set me up. called my sister and told her, “Mar got drunk last night.” I could not believe people would lie like that. I told my sister that I had drank 7-up.
Never forget God knows our hearts. He knows who says and does what! The Ex- lived 4 yrs. and the old lady lived 9 yrs. after that. Both died of cancer and stroke. She had told me right after our divorce that “she would do whatever she could to help him get his kids.” I was shocked. I had never done anything to anyone. Forty years after that incident I learned by seeing a copy of his DD214 from military that he had gotten a less than honorable discharge from the service. He was not a good person.
God protected me from evildoers because he knew my heart. What an Awesome God and his way of allowing me to know I was in a bed of vipers.

Maria, I’m so sorry about the difficulties you went through. But I’m also grateful that God gave you His protection. He truly is an awesome God!

God Does speak today the same way He spoke to the prophets in the Old Testament. Personally I have only hear His thunder Voice once, I was completely naked, out in the open and when you hear that voice start to speak, you do run for cover, the cleverness or audacity or simply the way we know Him like a child stealing a cookie from his mother gets me me all the time, there was a log on the ground so I cover myself the best I could until the voice was gone, but he did said these words” NO one puts anything before”

I was wondering when people tell me that god speak to them.It was something that i thought it was not true when they say such a thing.I was jobless after my grad.I asked god that all the while u were showing me the right path and now after a long journey of my studies where i did a lot of things that god hates.I was totally engaged with all the worldly things. One day i received a call from one of the school and asked me to attend an interview.I failed to fill up all their requirements. After few month later the management called me back and employed me.When i went to the school on the first day, a lady came n told me that god spoke to me n asked me to hire you.Since that day i believe that god speak to people and everyday before going to work i will kneel down and pray to god and share my specific problem that I’m facing while working.Till today he answers all my prayers daily and he always make a better way for me.God is good.I have felt his love. And knew that he was beaten for our sins and he shade blood on the cross because of our sin.I hope that everyone who read this message will get to know more about god and speak to him and surely he will speak to you.

    13. Jorge on October 5th, 2012 9:52 am

Dear Carol God will speak to you today if you seek Him with all your heart ,some indivuals are just naturally blesed while others we have to fight for our blessing like that woman In Matthew 9:20 who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years thinking to her self if I just touch and came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
Grab Him and don’t let Him go like Jacob and the Angel.

    14. Rebecca Barlow Jordan on October 5th, 2012 11:51 am

Thanks, Carol, for sharing your heart desire. There are so many Bible promises that speak to your question, like Psalm 103:12 about how God removes our sins as far as the east is from the west. A couple of books that might be helpful are Victory Over the Darkness by Neil Anderson and The Search for Significance by Robert McGee. But also do a search for yourself through the Bible, like the book of Ephesians–which tells of our worth in Christ, not depending on what we do, but on what Jesus did on the cross for us. We become a Christian through faith in Christ–believing He died for our sins–and we also live by faith–not by works. His Spirit can and will give you the power to overcome those habits. Falling does not mean failing. God’s grace reaches down to ALL of us, no matter who we are or what we’ve done. Your desire for God to change you is what God wants. And He will do it! He is patient, and loving, and so much bigger than we think. His grace is HUGE! We can’t change ourselves! Also, if you are not in a good accountability group who will help you, such as a local church or strong, Christian friends, I encourage you to find those who will give you help. We were not made to handle our struggles alone. I will be praying for you.

    16. Rebecca Barlow Jordan on October 16th, 2012 10:13 am

Dear titloye a.t.: I’m not sure I understand your request. While I am not a counselor (and you might want to consult a strong Christian counselor or pastor you trust), I do believe that God will confirm those things through His Word and to us as well.

      Dear Carol,
By accepting Christ into your life as your Saviour your name has been written in the Lambs Book of Life!
My heart goes out to you for the falls you keep on having and for the feeling that God is through with you because of that. I have just said a prayer for you based on Scripture that none will pluck you from His hand.
I want you to remember that our God knows our human weaknesses. No matter how many times you stumble, call on Him and He will pick you up. He is faithful even when we are not. He is not tired! You are the one that is getting tired.

Find a church where you can start Bible Study and throw in a discipleship class too.

      God bless you abundantly.

    20. Debbie on November 5th, 2012 1:16 pm

I’m going through probably the most difficult time of my life. I am unemployed and if I don’t get some kind of a break through I could lose my home. I don’t have any one to help me. I can’t even pay my utilities. I have had to apply for food stamps for the 1st time in my life. I am 55 years old.

I have prayed for God to guide me and speak to me but I just don’t hear anything from Him. Sometimes I think the O.T. had it better. At least they had an angel come to them and tell them what God wanted or what He was doing.

I’m doing my best to trust, wait, rely, believe and not fear. It’s pretty hard not to get totally discouraged though.

Deborah, thanks for sharing your testimony. Jesus is indeed worthy of our trust!

    22. Rebecca Barlow Jordan on November 6th, 2012 6:55 pm

Indeed they do, Deborah. These are some very practical ways of helping others and making a difference. Thank you for sharing this with us! I know it will encourage others. His miracles are truly all around us.

    23. Rebecca Barlow Jordan on November 6th, 2012 7:16 pm

Debbie, my heart truly goes out to you, and I am so sorry for the things you are going through. I know it must be humbling, scary, and discouraging. And no one can understand your feelings unless they have been where your are–except Jesus. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep waiting on the Lord. If I knew of job resources, I would pass that on. I do know one thing from years of personal experience, through pain, loss, difficulties, and lots of personal challenges: God is faithful. Ask God for creativity, maybe involving ideas for income you’ve never thought about before. If you are not part of a local church, I would recommend you find a Bible-believing one if it’s possible for you to attend, and allow others to come alongside of you, pray with you, and give support. In times like these is when the Body of Christ was meant to bond together. Keep reading His word. In difficult times, I always cling to the Psalms and read them again and again. Keep reading His Word, thanking Him for what He is going to do–in His perfect timing. I don’t know all your circumstances, but may I offer a prayer for you right now? Lord Jesus, You are our Jehovah-jireh, and to those who know You personally, to those who are God’s children, You have promised to meet all their needs. I ask You to restore to Debbie what the locust has tried to devour. Give her a new hope; let her know You want to do a new thing in her life, something that will give You glory and cause praise to spring up from Debbie’s heart. Give her creativity, renew her trust in you, and remove every doubt and fear that tries to whisper their names in her ear. Deepen her love for you, Lord, and give her encouragement that You have never left, and that You will always be with Your children to give them a future filled with hope and purpose and joy. And while she continues to wait on you, will you whisper to her daily that You love her. Day-votedly Yours, Rebecca

Can you share any insight on The Lord speaking through dreams? Any wisdom in that area is greatly appreciated.

    25. Sharon Hunt on November 25th, 2012 2:52 am

Carol- I had to answer your post. Do not turn away from God. He misses you even more than you miss Him. It hurts him more if He sees you fall and you do not reach out for His hand. He knows you are of the flesh. He does not expect perfection. He asks you to give only what you have to give. Give that willingly and He is pleased with you beyond comprehension. Talk to Him everyday. Find a quiet place where no one will interrupt you and just talk to Him. My favourite place is in a nice hot bath whilst it is still dark and nobody else is awake yet. Tell Him how much you love Him. Tell Him the things you have done that you are ashamed of and ask for His forgiveness- He will give it to you. Write Him letters listing the things you are thankful for and also the things you need help with- then read them out to Him. Start the letters “Oh Lord” and finish them “in Jesus’ name – Amen”. When you read them out to Him they become your prayer. And then speak to Him throughout the day. If your heart starts to feel heavy or your mind confused, take a deep breath, ask Him to lift the weight of your worries from your shoulders, ask “what would you do Lord”. Remember all these worries and cares were nailed to the cross over 2000 years ago with Jesus. They need not worry us now. You are the daughter of the most high and He loves you. He would leave the rest of the flock to find you and celebrate when He has you back safely in His arms. He sees you for what you are in your heart. Read a part of the bible everyday make sure its a translation that speaks like you do. Sign up to a daily scripture service like WordLive. You will start to hear Him speak to you, through others, through scripture or even in yr own head and heart. Patience is waiting with peace. The time for your “reveal” will come, as you wait for it allow the Prince of Peace to calm your heart like He calmed the waters. Do not urge yourself. He does not condemn you. Primarily love Him with all your heart, your soul and mind. Love yourself for He loves you. Then love your neighbour as yourself. Love, appreciate, praise, give thanks, forgive yourself and others, communicate, learn, wait with peace. All will be well. Peace be with you little sister in Christ xx

(that should have said “do not judge yourself” not “urge”) x

    27. truth on December 7th, 2012 7:44 pm

      Hi Rebecca,
The true gospel lost to men is Christ within. Jesus made it very clear that the kingdom is within us.To worship outward is of fleshly form and within is spirit acceptable to God just as he told the lady at the well. Jesus fulfilled his promise of sending the holy spirit on the day of pentecost as the light that enlightens ‘all man’ that come into the world. This light dwells within each man and convicts him daily of his sins. In other words god is within each man irrespective of religion. That.same light within each man is the annointing that teaches him how to llive a righteous life and there is no need for another man to teach for we only need one teacher, the christ. So the biggest question is how do we come to know this light? John says that it enlightens all man that enter this world. Who convicts you or tells you what is right and what is wrong? John also mentions that the same light is the word of god and is god! the life of all men. The same light shone in the darkness (mens hearts, minds) but the darkness did not comprehend it. That which turns our minds to purity and righteousness is the light
chained deep within each man hoping to be listened to and obeyed. Jesus knocks at every mans conscious daily! But no one hears! We all look outward for him when he is always within each man begging him to hear his voice. The light teaches us by enlightening us and we watch within us for his rising and prompting. We watch our conscious. You see irrespective of language, physical disabilities, jesus still teaches us and only he knows our weaknesses and strengths and he gives us power to change after subjecting us to personal trials and tribulations. The true church is within you just as jesus forewarned us.
Therefore what am I to do? First remember the flesh is evil and devious in his ways and this Paul spent a big time explaining the works of the flesh. We must come to silence and turn within and wait. When jesus said ‘my sheep hear my voice and they follow me’ he meant it. He even told the high priest that they were wasting their time searching the scriptures…..and same today….he speaks to us the same message. We must carry our cross of self denial if we want to be his true diciples. What I am implying is that the true gospel is jesus, the light within us teachers us and by his powet he saves us so that no man can boast before god. E.g as you become aware of this narrow road many things will be done against you just as jesus told peter that the devil has asked to sift all of us. We than watch for that which stirs the flesh to evil and we do our best to deny. This is the cross. We will not know our greatest evil or weakness until we are sifted within. Perseverance we must and this is the hour where we are subjected to trials and tribulations just as the apostles did and overcame. These are the true works as we abide in the vine. Thus we will come at the end to purity and holiness as god has demanded of us. Obedience to that which is revealed in us shows that we love him and obey his commands given daily to us. Note! Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of god within us. We must first put aside our fleshly knowledge and wisdom and come to him in repentence as a sinner knowing in our hearts that we can do nothing by ourselves to save us.
If you hold in your heart that god speaks to us and teaches us from within us…..read again the bible in this perspective and you will be surprised to see the whole teachings of the prophets, jesus and the diciples fall into place and there is no more doubt nor confusion. But first you must come to learn to be still and silence the mind in otder that you hear that tiny voice which is in all of us, christ the light of the world.

    28. truth on December 9th, 2012 4:40 am

God speaks today and has always. We are the ones that refuse to hear because of the abomination of desolation that sits high in a mans mind and heart. We Prefer that which we can define and make sense of so the reason more for our worship outward. The flesh is our greatest enemy which separates us from God. Thus the reason for so much teacings today leading more to confusion, frustration and hopelessness. God never intended this to happen so you can see how deep we are in the darkness and how much we have been misled from the truth. We expect so much from him and we give so little of ourselves back. We complain when life is tough and blame him for neglect. Remember we must be subjected to some form of trial and the reason for this is to see our weakness. I remember I asked the lord to remove my anger at one time and he gave me understanding immediatly that anger is like a basket full of rocks. There are many things that hold us to anger and they must be removed one at a time in his time. How will we know our faults and weaknesses if we are not subjected to such. If we turn within ourselves we will see what the lord is trying to show us than in repentence we ask him for forgiveness andhe than gives us power to change. The gospel is alive in all man and very few come to understand this and be saved through the fiery baptism. God promised to teach his people and live in his people and he has been since the pentecost. He teaches the believer by understanding, promptings, and later as you continue to watch within a tiny voice convicting you to righteous living becomes more audible and your conscience is always on him every second of the day. In the beginning it will be tough silencing the mind but this has its own good reasons. Patience is build up. Remember when you hear than faith has come. It is great comfort to know he is within you and also a bit weird knowing he is watching your every thought. Thus we start to watch our thoughts, words etc etc you see we become better if our hearts are true. We will fall but all these are allowed to build us up and remember the lord knows even the greatest sin there is known to mankind. Only few will tread this path to the removal of sin. If you are true in your heart to turn to your god and search for him even loosing your life for him than you have been called to walk before him. If not than hell is where you will be purified and believe not the hell which is being taught by the churches today. Imagine hell is a dream where you are put to trial to be purified because you failed in this lifetime? There is no burning but the burning within the soul of the man after he has been shown his disobedience at his death bed. The world ends for each man at his deathbed and thus all eyes will come to see him whom they pierced and not as the world teaches today. You see to know the truth is to know how merciful he is. Like we think we know what love is but actually we don’t. Until you are being taught by him personally than shall you come to understand all things even scripture. To know the depths of scripture you must be in the same spirit that stirred the writer. So refrain from all knowledge devised by men and wait for your true teacher, the christ. Do not rush forward to change but be patient as he is always patient for you. If in doubt to some commands he gives you than doubt the doubt and go no further. He will confirm each lesson in some way to you. You see when a baby is born it learns to differentiate many voices but in the end it will know its fathers voice well so will you when you begin on this spiritual journey. Many voices you will hear but that which prompts you to righteousness is him and of course each man knows that because he is in us. As you listen and obey the light you walk in the light and have light in yourselves. You become children of the light and so come out of the darkness of fleshly living and worships that are of the flesh. Prayer is silence (meditation) and speak not in the beginning for your father knows all your needs. As you grow your worship and prayers will be prompted by the spirit. Until than silence shows more respect and honor. Remember those who spend years in meditation. How have they come to so much peace within and wisdom? Little do they know that they have been spending time in the light of god who teaches all men and changes all men to righteous and peaceful living. The bible is a record of all the works of the word and the word itself is god. The bible gives us hope and the promises to come but it can never replace the word of god. So my friends please remember every time you open the bible it simply says go to Him who is within you knocking at the door of your conscience and heart. Listen to and obey his commands. The kingdom has come 2000yrs ago but it is seen within the believer after purification. You can see your lord and saviour whilst still alive just as jesus said to his diciples “some of you standing here will not taste death until you see the kingdom come”. This is the greatest news ever that has been tharwted by the antichrists since the apostles time. My hope is that you all turn within to find your true love. The teacher without extols but the teacher within destroys.

      Questions about god?

So my names is ashley collins and I am a Christian, over the last ten years i have been an avid follower of Christ! Gone to church, worshiped, prayed, and done some really cool stuff!

However I’m a little older and the question I once had are still un resolved, they still have not been answered. My aim is not to debunk faith not at all but to get a full range of understanding as to what? When? Who and where, we Christian’s claim that there is a god and he created heaven and earth with the devil as the underbelly!

3 month ago it dawn on me that my future and present life is, one not we’re I would like it to be and two I feel it’s not going anywhere I would like it to go! So all of a sudden I was put in this glass jar looking out at the world! Screaming for this one million pound lifestyle but not in the way we all know and most people love, I’m not talking about the houses, the cars, boats and the woman. No

I found out that people like me the middle class people like me neither will or get the chance to change not only my life but the others around me! One question I get asked a lot is ok ashley so a man gives you 10 million quid! Now you can do all the thing you have ever dream of. My response has and always will be that it’s not about me! Ok then so what’s it about?

That kind of money could help so many other people, poor people with nothing but a mattress on the floor, it would help the homeless, the poverty here in the uk and abroad! But most important it would save me! It would break away that glass jar I would smell the air once more! I could fight for what’s right! But without it I’m just a man! With empty plans living in a glass jar. It’s not about the jet set life style! The cars, boats, houses, it’s about every time I help someone else I have this overwhelming joy, fullness. That I did that, the smile was created because of me! So. Asked god if this is how my future feels its meant to be then why am I not doing it now? That one we will have to see, but Jesus did say seek and you shall find so here I am seeking!

So enough about me I’m going to spent the next hour or so interviewing Christians and asking a few questions as to the what, where, who and why?

Set the scene, religion, here say or fact?

If fact must we take the bible word for word as most accounts happen well after Jesus was dead and not around the time Jesus was alive! I was thinking that Jesus and his men at the time were very clever, it could almost have been this made up fast. That when you die you go to heaven and see the father whom created all of the earth. I can’t help thinking that people soon started to see loved ones lost and no way back! Society was out of order! So was it made up to ease them suffering and provide false answers to give them some peace as to why, what, when, where and whom? Created all this? We’re we just a spawn a tiny creature over billions of years evolving into this perfect human!

In that lies a question it’s self if god made us in his image then why are we not perfect? From the moment were born to the moment we die? There are horrible disease and problems…. Then why for 10 years have I not heard his voice!

      Goom morning/ afternoon. Name?..

So hey, let’s get a bit of background on whom this magnificent man/woman is! Lets step out with god!

So give me a little background to what happened before you became a Christian??

      Big question why god?

Ok so what definitive moments did you have or had for you to realized there is a god?

Have you ever considering there is no god, if yes, what makes you still believe? Is it abundance of faith?

When we talk Christian and belief there is a miss understanding between evolution and god made Adam and Eve! We all grew one big family! Some Christians say evolution is real but only through god because that’s how hewn tend to do it? What’s your thoughts on that?

So what about faith and war? If Jesus came from the god? The big G then why do we find there are big wars between different religions! When Jesus proclaims one god? And he is the son of that god!

Do you feel a necessary urge to praise god? Or do you find it hard to commit time for praise?

What’s your favorite script from the bible!

Being a chef myself I have to ask this question!
Final question what’s your favorite food?

      Plus what’s after death?

    31. BRENT on February 23rd, 2013 10:22 am

Last year the LOVE of my life since 1987 reentered my life. Things between us started taking a turn for the worse. she asked me to pray for her but i wasnt right with God at that time. So i prayed and asked forgivness my sins and prayed for her. Things keep getting worse and the more she pulled away the more I ran to God. she broke up with by txt the week before Christmas and I was crushed more than I have ever been in my life. The following sunday I got baptized. God has carried me. lifted me up and made me strong again. but this time i see everything so much different and with a smile. Right now I am being still and listning. I dont know if im suposed to be waiting for her or move on. How will I know what God is telling me to do or when he does?

Brent, thanks for writing. I am not a counselor. But being still and listening to God is always a wise thing. Keep focusing on God and His Word. He will encourage you daily as you stay in His Word. The most important thing is to keep your relationship with Him strong and close, and not isolate yourself from the body of Christ (other strong believers). It takes time to rebuild trust. God has His own timetable for things, but He does give us wisdom when we depend on Him, and not on our feelings or emotions.

For nearly a year, I have been thinking about making a major career change. I asked God to send me a sign that this path would be the best use of the talents he has given me. One week later, I was at the park with my son & he saw a woman on the hill flying a kite with her daughter. Being five years old, he immediately ran over to admire the kite. Since her child was also five, we struck up a casual conversation. As we were both about to part ways & I thanked her for sharing, she said (randomly), ”I am so lucky to have a job that affords me afternoons in the park like this.” Of course I was now curious & asked what she did. Not only was it the career path I was seriously considering but witin the exact specialty; not a common job at all. It took my breath away. I believe God speaks through others.

God speaks in mysterious ways, doesn’t He? What He speaks to us will always line up with His words in Scripture. God will take care of those who try to harm His children–His way–His time.

I am only 13 years old, but already God has spoken to me in many ways. When I was younger I would draw parts of the bible, especially the story of Moses. Now God really speaks to me I find through other people, through music, dance and through my words. God has truly changed my life and has been with me every step of the way ; through my pain, sorrow, joy and happiness! How has God changed your life?

    39. Rebecca Barlow Jordan on April 5th, 2013 8:43 am

Kaylyn, thanks for your encouraging words and testimony. Keep walking with Him. And keep sharing His truths!

Im bless by reading peoples comment and encouragement’s. God speak thru me in natural things. I graduated from Bibles school few years ago. i thought God is going to use me straight aways in something big, but not as i thought. So one day me and my wife and up on the road no where to sleep, but we go to our church and pray. we sleep there… to keep the story short… God put you in the journey that you need according to the purpose he made you. now me and my wife are youth pastor….

When we find our new place, i thank God for the journey that me and my wife had.
He take me back to the sink. i was thirsty at that time, so i just get a class and fill up. so i drink but the cup is dirty… i look inside the water is dirty and i just heard someone says, I dont want my children to drink from a dirty Cup.
what i go thru is actually cleaning me.
Sorry for my grammar but spiritual food need to preach.

God bless everyone who read this.
