25 Christmas Prayers – Day 6
Day 6 – Jesus
Jesus–is there any name sweeter or more precious than Your name? At Your name, Jesus,
- Knees bow
- Arms raise
- Demons scatter
- Voices praise
- Enemies fall
- Mountains move
- Miracles happen
- Winds calm
- Lives change
- Hearts melt
- Love lives
- Shame dies
Lord, there is no other name under heaven or earth that stirs such emotions inside–a whirlwind of praise, a flood of tears, a shower of gratitude.
You Are the Miracle of Christmas
Truly, You are the miracle of Christmas. We celebrate You today as Jesus, God’s most precious gift to us. You’re the reason for the season, the gift that keeps on giving, the One who brings true joy. No word can express, no tongue can confess adquately, the glory, majesty, and honor of Your name.
There’s Something Precious about that Name
Help us this Christmas, Lord, to understand the power involved in Your name–and to never be ashamed to confess you as Lord. So many still need to hear about You. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus–there is indeed something precious about that name!
“But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.’” Matthew 1:30-31 NIV
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth…and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Philippians 2:10-11 NIV

Today is the sixth in a series of daily Christmas blogs: 25 Christmas Prayers, celebrating the names of our precious Lord. I hope they will enrich your Christmas season and draw you closer to the One who is the true reason for Christmas. (I’ll be returning to my regular weekly posts after Christmas).

Got something to say?

Our names are throughout the Bible.
Somehow, when the Name of Jesus is spoken, it makes my heart sing. Nothing can be added to Jesus to make Him more beautiful – He is complete and all that we need is within Him. Jesus is His Father’s Gift to us and we in turn, are the Gift back to the Father. And there is power in the name of Jesus as you say Rebecca. Jesus/Jeshua – the song that the Angels sing. Thank you for reminding us to appropriate in our lives what He is more than able to do. If we have forgotten how to love, may we be reminded of the Greatest Gift to mankind, Jesus! Blessings to you and your ministry.
Thank you, Coralie. And thanks for your precious, encouraging words!
