25 Christmas Prayers – Day 12

Today is the 12th in a series of daily Christmas blogs: 25 Prayers for Christmas celebrating the names of our precious Lord. Featured name today is Adonai, the LORD. I hope these simple prayer blogs will enrich your Christmas season and draw you closer to the One who is the true reason for Christmas. (I’ll be returning to my regular, weekly posts after Christmas).

It’s so easy to call you “Lord,” yet sometimes difficult to follow You in complete obedience. Jesus, some see You only as a man; others call you Savior. But You are also our “Adonai, Lord,” the blessed controller of our lives every day.

You are Lord

When You are on the throne of our hearts and lives, peace and safety thrive. Priorities fall into place. It’s easier to do Your will.

You are “Lord,” whether we acknowledge You as Adonai or not. But when we do, how differently our lives unfold!

Lord, one day with You is truly better than a thousand in the palaces of kings. You call our names, and a flood of joy overflows. When You command our lives, a fountain of confidence takes over.

You, Lord, Deserve Our All

Many call You “Adonai,” but self often intervenes, and we choose our own way instead of Yours. This Christmas, Lord, we come to You with bowed hearts desiring truly to celebrate You as our “Adonai.”

Help us to serve You in obedience, faithfully and joyfully. After all You’ve done for us, You deserve no less than our all!

Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21 NIV

What About You?

Have you made Jesus both your Savior and Lord? How does knowing Him as your LORD affect your Christmas celebration? I’d love for you to share.

Bonnie, I’m so grateful the blogs have ministered to you. Writers never know who’s reading them, and it’s always encouraging to hear how God is blessing others through them. His names are so powerful! God’s best to you this Christmas, too. Thanks you for taking the time to write.

Thank you for always bringing a Throne Room perspective to this earthly life. From that perspective, we are above and not beneath. Above all that hinders and we see that nothing is an obstacle, only ourselves. Jesus, we do choose to enthrone You in the midst of us and especially in our hearts. Thank you again that you love HIm so much that you want to share Him with the world, just as His Father did.
